The image and character of the Lion as a fearless animal was very popular among the Ancient Egyptians royalty and their Gods/Goddess. God Maahes, Goddess Nut, Goddess Tefnut and Goddess Sekhmet were characterized and sometimes portrayed as the body of a human with a lion’s head.
